My sister is getting married soon, and I am realizing I have been a bit absent from my blog and social media for a bit. I am taking time today to get caught up on some of my personal work as well as chipping away at the edits for this season's first wedding (which I am very excited to share soon).
This year the kids and I kept our Easter egg dye simple and easy. It was fun and lead to a beautifully modern looking egg.
We made our own dye out of food coloring (recipe to follow images). It was what I had on hand so we made it work.
Here is what we came up with :)
McCormick food coloring egg dye instructions:
- Mix 1/2 c. boiling water, with 1 tbsp. or white vinegar.
- Add between 10-20 drops of food coloring.
- Dip egg and let rest in dye until desired color is achieved.
It really is as easy as that. To achieve the look of our dip dyed eggs, dye each egg a singular color as described above, then hold each egg in the same color or a different color about half way in. Keep egg submerged for a couple minutes then place in egg carton, wet side down to avoid drips, to dry.
